KOTA KINABALU: Hardly a month after Sabah’s Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) opened, a steady stream of 2,000 have started using facilities offered by various state and federal agencies.
The 10-storey UTC complex, the seventh in the country to drive the government’s transformation under the National Blue Ocean Strategy, offers the services of 43 state and federal agencies from 8.30am to 10pm daily with the exception of public holidays.
The variety of facilities include medical services, passport application, a grocery shop and even a gym among others provided at UTC located at the former Wisma Khidmat off Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman here.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, who visited the UTC on Jan 9, told reporters that he was satisfied with the establishment of the centre that opened on Dec 16.
“We have received positive feedback from the public,” he said after touring the various facilities provided.
The UTC is aimed at providing services to urban communities services of key government, private sector and non-governmental (NGO) under one-roof.
“What I see today is satisfying as almost all the state and federal agencies, 43 of them, are in the UTC.
“The people are satisfied as the UTC provides them the comfort, convenience and facilities to handle their affairs,” Musa added.
He hoped that the UTC would continue to provide the best services to the people.
A soft launch of the UTC Sabah by Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah will be held on Jan 23 this year, while Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is expected to grace the official launching of UTC Sabah in February this year.
